About
The blog
Let’s start the discussion of how the undoctrination of myself, Aurora, led to the empowering of my moxie, which afforded me the opportunities to create a life all my own.
Yes, undoctrination is not officially a word in the dictionary, but I feel it gives the impression and expression that I am going to try and convey in this blog. I grew up indoctrinated in both a specific religion, society and family that put many limits on me as a person. It has taken 42 years and counting to break through all these layers and find out who I really am and who I want to be unencumbered.
The other expression I will use frequently is empowering moxie, which is the name of the blog. For me, moxie is more of a concept, state of mind, and/or phenomena than just a word and to fully understand how I embrace it, read this post.
In this blog, I will explore and present stories from my life to contribute to the perception and comprehension of what it means to have moxie. And in turn, afford others the opportunity to empower moxie in themselves.
Life so far at 42, has not come easy to me. I have always longed for a laissez-faire life, where everything just seems to fall in my lap the way I wanted it to. However, I would be a very different person if that was the case, as I have endured a great deal of personal oppression and hardships because of the indoctrination throughout my life. Therefore, in this blog, I will be writing about the undoctrination of myself and how it has empowered moxie within me.
The author
I am Aurora Northstarr, or rather that is my pen name for the time being. I want to be honest and open with who I am, but I need some room in the beginning so I can share personal and sometimes intimate details, stories and experiences from my life.
I can tell you that Aurora is my middle name, so that part is me, however Northstarr is a name I chose based on where I come from, where I live now, and the type of person I want to be. If you want to understand why I chose the name Aurora Northstarr, you can read this post.
I am a highly educated women, currently working on her Ph.D. thesis. I am a critical thinker by nature and from an early age. I don’t just except everything that is told to me as truth, it must resonate with my soul and intuition. This makes me question, inquire, investigate and explore – I am led by curiosity and a willingness to understand.
My understandings come not just from provoking my own indoctrinations through cognitive work, but also through encounters with others, sharing of feelings, embracing my strong sense of empathy, and working with bodily and spiritual ways of being. This diverse amount of knowledge I have acquired at 42, strengthens my courage to stand up with moxie, dare to speak out, and be 100% my authentic self.
The use of AI

I, Aurora Northstarr have a design and art background. I believe in giving artists credit for their work and only publishing with their permission and with proper compensation. Therefore, I will be using mostly my own creations and photography for this blog.
However, I do want to explore the possibilities of using AI as a tool in image creation and design. I will be playing with my images and creations in the Adobe programs, using their integrated AI tools and components.
If you see that any of images resemble another artist’s work, please contact me immediately, and I will gladly take it down, give credit and/or contact the artist for permission and compensation. .
